The two World Champions Nino Schurter (Scott-Swisspower) and Irina Kalentieva (Topeak-Ergon) opened the 2010 World Cup season with a double victory in Dalby Forest (UK) on Sunday, april 25th. Nino collected his first World Cup win over Julien Absalon in what seemed like a replay of the World Championship race last september, where the two superstars fought hard for many laps coming to a sprint finish, with Nino crossing the line first. In third place Burry Stander (Specialized Factory Racing), and rounding up an all-XX podium Jaroslav Kulhavy in 4th (Rubena-Specialized) and Ralph Naef (Multivan Merida). Another clean sweep for XX, and nine out of the top ten riders were on XX drivetrain and brakes!
In the women’s filed Topeak-Ergon’s Irina Kalentieva won her first World Cup race on SRAM XX, followed by US sensation Willow Kroeber (Subaru-Gary Fisher).
Next weekend riders take on the second round of the World Cup in the “classic” location of Houffalize, Belgium.
The Sea Otter Classic powered by SRAM is a traditional season opener for all the racer heads, and of course XX was once again on the top spot of the podium in both men’s elite cross country and short track, with Burry Stander and Todd Wells of Specialized Factor Racing taking the win. Great ride also from XX equipped riders of Cannondale Factory Racing, Subaru-Gary Fisher and Topeak-Ergon!

The response to the launch of the X7 2X10 product family at the Taipei Show in march 2010 has been incredibly positive
all over the world. Web editors and consumers are praising it as the next step in the 2X10 revolution. Here are their best
quotes:
“I mentioned a few weeks back when SRAM launched its 2X10 site that we’d be seeing a few more 2X10 drivetrains. However I definitely
didn’t expect it to be X7, and seeing it, I can’t believe how sweet a drivetrain it actually is.”
Caleb Smith – Spoke Magazine
“By launching a 2×10 group at the lower end of the market, SRAM reveal more about their commitment to the design than they ever
could with a top-tier group like XX. They say the new group is lighter and has better shifting performance than anything previously
offered at this level.”
“…in the ultimate trickledown of technology, SRAM bring top-level features to a price just about every rider can afford.”
