Saturday, july 31st: Nino Schurter (Scott Swisspower) took the win in Val di Sole and the first place in the World Cup ranking on XX.
4 out of 5 riders on the podium in Val di Sole and 9 out of the top 10 raced on XX.

It sounds to good to be true but for the third time in a row XX riders filled the podium at the third World Cup in Offenburg, Germany, on may 23rd.

This time it was multi time Olympic and World Champion Julien Absalon of Orbea taking the win and the World Cup leader’s jersey, in front of Nino Schurter (Scott-Swisspower), Jaroslav Kulhavy (Specialized-Rubena), Cristoph Sauser (Specialized Factory Racing) and Florian Vogel (Scott-Swisspower). XX CONTINUES TO RULE THE WORLD CUP IN HOUFFALIZEComments Off

Another glorious sunday for SRAM XX riders at the second stop of the MTB World Cup in Houffalize, Belgium, on sunday may 2nd.
Multivan – Merida’s Jose Hermida took his first win of the season and powered to the top of the World Cup ranking. Behind him a very happy Manuel Fumic of Cannondale Factory Racing, who seemed fit for the win. In an all-new podium sweep for XX third place went to Wolfgang Kusrchat of Team Topeak-Ergon, followed by Jaroslav Kulhavy (Ruben-Birell-Specialized) and Ralph Naef (Multivan Merida).

Willow Koerber (Subaru – Gary Fisher) rode strong in the women’s race finishing seconding but now leading in the overall World Cup ranking, great job!

Next race will be in Offenburg, Germany, on may 23rd!

XX DOMINATES THE OPENING ROUND OF THE 2010 WORLD CUPComments Off

The two World Champions Nino Schurter (Scott-Swisspower) and Irina Kalentieva (Topeak-Ergon) opened the 2010 World Cup season with a double victory in Dalby Forest (UK) on Sunday, april 25th. Nino collected his first World Cup win over Julien Absalon in what seemed like a replay of the World Championship race last september, where the two superstars fought hard for many laps coming to a sprint finish, with Nino crossing the line first. In third place Burry Stander (Specialized Factory Racing), and rounding up an all-XX podium Jaroslav Kulhavy in 4th (Rubena-Specialized) and Ralph Naef (Multivan Merida). Another clean sweep for XX, and nine out of the top ten riders were on XX drivetrain and brakes!

In the women’s filed Topeak-Ergon’s Irina Kalentieva won her first World Cup race on SRAM XX, followed by US sensation Willow Kroeber (Subaru-Gary Fisher).

Next weekend riders take on the second round of the World Cup in the “classic” location of Houffalize, Belgium.

Todd and Burry win at Sea Otter Classic!Comments Off

The Sea Otter Classic powered by SRAM is a traditional season opener for all the racer heads, and of course XX was once again on the top spot of the podium in both men’s elite cross country and short track, with Burry Stander and Todd Wells of Specialized Factor Racing taking the win. Great ride also from XX equipped riders of Cannondale Factory Racing, Subaru-Gary Fisher and Topeak-Ergon!

XX MAREMMA CUP – MASSA MARITTIMA, ITALYComments Off

XX riders started their 2010 season at the XX Maremma Cup powered by SRAM in Massa Marittima, Italy, right were 2009 had ended: on the podium, with clean sweeps of all the first spots. All the world’s best riders were in attendance and, impressively, most of them are riding on SRAM’s XX 2X10 drivetrain for upcoming season, including Olympic gold medalists Julien Absalon, and his team Orbea, and Bart Brentjens, with his new team Trek-Bart Brentjens. Also new on XX are powerhouse team Multivan Merida and the girls and boys of Felt Bionix Otztal and Lapierre.

Australian National Championships – Powered by SRAM!

Australian Mountain Bike National Championships kicked off at Eagle Mountain Bike Park in Adelaide starting Thursday, January 14. SRAM was an official event sponsor, and we had tons of event signage, banners, and fencing. Everyone that attended or sees pictures from this event will have red SRAM logos on their mind.

Julien Absalon Wins Madrid World Cup on XX First World Cup Victory for New Component Group

Madrid was the location for one of the most dramatic races of the season so far. The drying race conditions allowed for a very fast start, and shortly after thestart, Julien Absalon found his way to the front along with Ralph Naef. Naef launched several solid attacks against Abslaon, but it would be Julien’s day once again.
